As the owners of Kalliope House B&B our mission is to offer bespoke hospitality and great food from our home and smallholding, here in picturesque North East Fife, Scotland.
Building on a dream....
As well as its continuous panoramic views, Kalliope House benefits from 0.7 of an acre of beautiful garden complete with a large pond and orchard. Plentiful fruit trees and berry bushes ensure ample supplies of homemade jams, jellies, chutneys, ketchups and more. The outstanding available local produce includes the best summer berries, excellent shellfish and seafood from the local harbour and locally farmed award winning meat and dairy. With strong ties to Greece and the Middle East, Leila and Philip bring a touch of the Mediterranean to Fife’s golden coast, sourcing and cooking with some of the best ingredients from Greece and beyond. Herbs, spices, cheeses, olive oils, and honeys are imported luxuries we wouldn’t live without so nor will our guests!
We are fluent in English and in Greek and Leila has a working knowledge of French and some Spanish, feel free to communicate with us in writing in the language of your convenience and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
Leila’s connections to Fife go back generations to her West Coast Scottish ancestors who fell in love with the East Coast seaside towns. After growing up in Athens she moved with her mother to St. Andrews where she attended the local school before moving to London. Leila worked in St. Andrews restaurants during the holidays as a student and did silver service catering in London as a post graduate student and then law student. After four years working in finance law in central London, Leila went onto work for the last four years as a private chef to wealthy Notting Hill Gate based clients. Philip has successfully run his own business in Athens with his brother and another partner since 2005. Since he obtained his undergraduate degree in Stirling, Scotland, Philip has relished getting to know Fife and the surrounding countryside. Having grown up in Athens, Philip is no stranger to good food and in his previous life working in interactive digital media became adept at event organisation as well as systems installation and management.
